When the pandemic wreaked havoc on my own 2020 wedding plans, I felt uncertain and completely overwhelmed. Unsure to postpone, or to go through with our wedding? Tight-knit, or big celebration? And importantly, a simple dress for an intimate occasion, or the beautiful wedding gown I had always dreamed of?
I began to explore my options, only to find they were quite limited. Most stores were closed because of the shutdown, and with the limited online wedding dress services in Belgium, it was time to go global. Eventually, I discovered limited amount of wedding boutiques offering remote services.I had managed to get my hands on the perfect dress and order it online, without costing me a pretty penny – especially compared to the Belgian market.
The experience helped me to realize that, with my background in retail, I could create a much-needed, solutions-based bridal boutique to provide highly versatile, premium quality options and world-class service, seamlessly guiding future brides to the gowns which make them feel truly beautiful. . It would also offer me the opportunity to empower other women struggling to make their dream wedding happen amidst the ongoing crisis – and beyond.
